What Is ArteZoe?
"ArteZoe" is the word God gave me to describe and stand for the creative, expressive, life-filled power of the Holy Spirit as He moves through the servants of Christ in the arts. In my life, this refers specifically to the visual arts (painting and digital art), creative writing and music, as these are my gifts.
The Greek word "zoe" means life-- the kind of life that God breathes into what He creates, the life that is part of His nature. He's given us the ability to create and to give life to what we create, though we are like children much of the time-- playing, practicing and making messes.
Although I use the label "ArteZoe" around the Web, I alone am not "ArteZoe". It is more like calling myself "Christian". Lots of people are named "Christian", but that doesn't make them the only one. And naming oneself that and truly being that are two different things.
"ArteZoe" is a characterisic of the Body of Christ, and it is expressed differently depending on the individual it is expressed through. It is the Light of Christ shining artistically, powerfully and effectively through His true Church as through a living prism. The Light may look a little different coming through different vessels, but it is the same Light with the same power.
